Hunger is not a 3rd world issue. Hunger exists right here right now in our own community. Of the 9,000+ children in Gig Harbor‘s Peninsula School District, over 2,500 of them qualify for and receive free and reduced -priced lunches.
Summer is a different story. Hunger doesn’t take a vacation.
To fill the gap, Altrusa Gig Harbor is committed to preparing and delivering healthy, balanced sack lunches to neighborhoods where we are likely to serve significant numbers of children who may be hungry. Our volunteers purchase the food and prepare and deliver lunches throughout July and August. Your donation will help us continue this service. Thank you!
