Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to raise both money and awareness in the fight to end hunger.  In Gig Harbor, this is an annual event organized by the Altrusa Club and Foundation of Gig Harbor to raise funds for feeding children and families in our community who may otherwise experience hunger.

Altrusa Foundation Gig Harbor grants funds from Empty Bowls proceeds to local organizations who help feed hungry children and families within our school district boundaries.

​Here is how Empty Bowls works:  Choose from a wide selection of handmade bowls by local artists. After paying for your choices, you will pick up a paper bowl to enjoy a simple meal of delicious soup donated by one of our premier Gig Harbor restaurants. Take your treasures home as a reminder of the empty bowls in our community.
